Race #2 – Laguna Seca 2017

ECHS earned a second place podium spot and is now in overall second place in the league!  Six members of the team earned medals – 3 firsts, 2 seconds and a fourth and 3 team members are now wearing leader jerseys. This was truly an outstanding achievement by the entire team.

Laguna Seca is a tough course with a solid 700’ of leg-burning climbing in each 4.2 mile lap, including legendary “Hurl Hill”, which is harsh 15%+ grade near the end of  a long climb out of a valley.  Freshman raced for 2 laps, Sophomore and JV girls did 3 and JV boys did 4.   Riders tested their endurance on this one and came out victorious!

Sophomore Boys: Josh Harnden, 1st (Podium, Category 
Leader); Tal Zvik, 4th (Podium – passed 3 riders on Hurl Hill in the last lap to earn this one!); Max Lambert, 9th; Pedro Perez, 14th; Daniel Huebner, 17th; Sebastian Alvarez, 23rd
