State Championships – Petaluma 2017

Race Report:

ECHS competed in the California State Championships on Sunday in Petaluma and earned 10th place as a team (up from 17th last season)!  More than 800 riders from across the state participated and the races were very competitive.  The 6 mile course was demanding and tested riders’ endurance and bike handling kills with a leg burning 650’ opening climb and lots of tight switchbacks on the descent.  Freshman and JV girls did 2 laps and Sophomore and JV boys did 3.  Congratulations to all the riders who raced – you did awesome!

JV Boys (90+ riders): Matt Garrison, 6th; Evan Garrison, 7th

Sophomore Boys (60+ riders): Josh Harnden, 30th; Tal Zvik, 31st;  Sebastian Alvarez, 51st

Freshman Girls (40+ riders): Madeline Hill, 7th

Freshman Boys (70+ riders): Keith Emery,21st; Nitzan Gladstone, 33rd; Aiden Dey-Ward, 45th
